Grope In Darkness, Stagger Like Drunkards

Every morning I start the day with my routine, the three S’s.   While taking care of the first S I read my Bible.  I’m multi tasking.

I’m not a guy who wears his religion on his sleeve.

Although my religion was given to me by my parents, when it comes to my religion I don’t have the same perspective as my parents.

It’s mine and only mine and I don’t expect it to be yours.  Live and let live.

I do find The Bible a tremendous source of wisdom and knowledge and I have read through it cover to cover a number of times.

On this current read through I am at the point where I am getting to some of my favorite books like Job, Proverbs and Psalms.

These books not only teach but inspire.

I find that the truth in The Bible applies today as it did thousands of years ago and will throughout time.

Whether you believe or don’t believe in God, I can’t see how anyone can deny that it is a very powerful and prophetic book.  I’m sure those who poo poo it haven’t read a single page.

I read a passage from Job and wrote it down like I do with many passages that I find interesting.  It struck me as still being true thousands of years after it was written.

It’s from the book of Job, Chapter 12, Verses 23 through 25.  It is Job speaking to his three friends who have come to console him and he speaks about God.

“He makes nations great and destroys them; He enlarges nations and disperses them.  He deprives the leaders of the earth of their reason; He makes them wander in a trackless waste.  They grope in darkness with no light; He makes them stagger like drunkards.”

That is today.  That is politics today.  That is politics for all times.2016candidate

You don’t believe me.  Follow the next 14 months of politicians wandering through their bullshit.  Watch them bouncing around on what they stand for trying to grab onto any one thing that will increase their numbers.  Listen to them babbling like a drunk who just wants to be loved.

As is written in Ecclesiastes (another of my favorites) “there is nothing new under the sun.”

The next time you look at The Bible and think it’s all a bunch of antiquated mythology, stop and take some time to read it.

Whether you do or don’t believe in God there is no denying it’s a powerful book.
