This is kind of an odd observation that I wanted to write about.
There are a couple of ladies that I work with who have naturally very curly hair. It’s the tight almost kinky kind of curly hair.
Now some days during the week they show up at work and this naturally tight twist curly hair is as straight as a board. It’s so different that you almost don’t recognize them.
I don’t know what they use on their hair to get it so straight but it can’t be good for the overall health of the hair and it may not be good for their overall health.
Observing this one day when both of these ladies had chosen the same day to straighten their hair, it made me think of hair styles from the mid to late seventies, you know the time when that plague was upon the earth, the plague known as disco.
I remember how at that time the straight hair ladies and even the straight hair guys started going to the salon and getting perms to give them that tight curly hair look.
Even my father who was in his mid to late forties went out and got himself a perm.
Anyway it just made me think how things keep turning around all throughout your life.
People with straight hair wanted curly, people with curly hair want straight.
Again just as King Solomon said, “there is nothing new under the sun.”
Or maybe the immortal words of Mick Jagger, “I can’t get no satisfaction.”
