Alien Mushroom Dream

This will be a short one.   Been really busy over the past couple of months with moving south, but as I’ve said before, at least I’m writing.

I like to write about my dreams, when I can remember them, and then be my own Freud and try to figure out what they meant.

But this last one that I remember was pretty weird and I’m still not sure what it means, or if it even has any meaning.  Maybe it was just my mind saying enough already, I need a distraction.

This is what I remember.

I’m wearing shorts which makes sense.  The weather was hotter than normal and for a period longer than normal when I had this dream.

I look down at my right leg and on the outside just above the ankle there is what looks like a bug bite that I had reached down and scratched open. I reach down again to scratch it because like all bug bites on me it itches like crazy.

Suddenly this bug bite looks like some sort of alien mushroom is sprouting right out of my leg.  It reminds me of something out of a Dr. Seuss book.

It’s hard to describe but here is my best, unartistic drawing that I can come up with.

This thing sprouted right out of my leg like it was some sort of living creature, maybe an alien parasite.

That’s all I remember about the dream, but I remember it vividly.

When I woke up that morning I was afraid to reach down and touch my leg.  I was afraid this thing would still be there.  Thank God it wasn’t.

That’s it.

It’s a dream that has stuck with me for days afterwards but I can’t figure out what it means, if anything.

Drop me a line if you think you know.
