Two Kinds Of Weights

Two Kinds Of Weights

Deuteronomy 25:13-16

“You shall not have in your bag two kinds of weights, a large and a small. You shall not have in your house two kinds of measures, a large and a small. A full and fair weight you shall have, a full and fair measure you shall have, that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you. And because of these abominations the Lord your God is driving them out before you. You shall be blameless before the Lord your God, for these nations, which you are about to dispossess, listen to fortune-tellers and to diviners. But as for you, the Lord your God has not allowed you to do this.

Now the first part of verse 10, “anyone who burns his son or his daughter as an offering”, that’s something we all can agree on, it’s not OK to sacrifice your kids.

What I wanted to write about today was the second half of verse 10 and verses 11 through 12: Continue reading
