It is a New Year and like most people I make a New Year’s resolution.
The tradition of New Year’s resolutions dates back to the time of ancient Babylon and the Roman Empire. It has continued through the ages.
I have never been a big celebrator of the New Year. Through most of my younger days I was always working.
Anyone who has ever played in a working band, full or part time, knows that New Year’s Eve is your biggest night of the year. You usually get paid twice your normal rate if not more, sometimes much more.

I recently reposted my piece “We Are All Angels”. What prompted me to do so, was a conversation I had with my wife.
She joined NextDoor.com when we moved to our new location. It has helped with learning more about the area. But she also discovered that it is basically a Facebook for the locals. It’s a platform for whining and bitching about the things that go on in the neighborhood.
This particular day my wife was reading to me the comments made by local residents in regards to the town “nut”, for lack of a better and more politically correct term. Continue reading
It has been two years since I started this blog. Those two years have seen many changes.
My wife and I sold a vast majority of our possessions, including the house we lived in for twenty five years and moved our lives nine hundred miles to the south.
I still work for the same company that I have worked for the last twenty seven years but now I work from my home. I wake up, go to the bathroom, make a cup of coffee, sit down at my computer and I am at the office.
And best of all I am in a band. Continue reading
